MarineGEO Internships

MarineGEO is committed to training early career researchers and scientists in learning new skills and gaining access to our incredible partners, data, and shared expertise. MarineGEO's hub is based at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center in Edgewater, Maryland. We occasionally take fall and winter interns, but most of our intern opportunities are between April and August as part of the SERC Summer Intern Experience. To be considered for a SERC internship with us, you must select MarineGEO as your first choice. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to MarineGEO’s program manager, Dr. Katelyn DiBenedetto (dibenedettok@si.edu), with questions.

Each node of the Tennenbaum Marine Observatories Network also has their own internship program too:

Postdoctoral Research & Fellowship Opportunities

MarineGEO occasionally offers competitive postdoctoral research opportunities, which are posted on the SERC job board

For fellowship opportunities, please apply to conduct your research with MarineGEO through the Smithsonian Office of Academic Appointments and Internships - Fellowship Program
